The short version
Your birthday sky is worked out on your own device, in your browser or in the True Zodiac app. There are no accounts, no adverts and no tracking. The one thing we keep is a note of which purchase paid for which poster, so that your download link keeps working.
Finding your constellation
The date, time and time zone you enter are used on your device to find your constellation. They are not sent to us for that, and we do not store them.
Shared links
When you share a result, the link itself holds the date, time, time zone and any names you added. Anyone you send it to can see them. We do not keep a copy.
The WhatsApp, Email, Facebook and X buttons simply open that service with the link and a line of text filled in, ready for you to send or not. What happens after that is under that service's own privacy policy.
Posters
To draw a poster, your details (date, time, time zone, and any names you add) are sent to our server, which draws the keepsake set (the A3 and A4 posters and the two wallpapers) and sends it back. The small watermarked preview beside the name field is drawn the same way while you type; it is not kept either. The details travel inside the poster's own link, which is how that link keeps working; we do not keep them in a database.
Bought on the website. Lemon Squeezy is the seller. They collect your email address and payment details to take the payment, handle any tax and send your receipt, under their own privacy policy. They tell us the order number, and we keep that number with your poster in our order store (Upstash, in London).
Bought in the app. Apple takes the payment, under Apple's privacy policy, and we never see your Apple Account or payment details. The app sends us Apple's signed record of the purchase, and we keep its transaction number and date with your poster, so that one purchase draws one poster and a refund can be honoured.
These records hold no name or email address, and we keep them for as long as the service runs, since your link depends on them. If you would like yours removed, which also ends the link, get in touch.
Visiting the website
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookie-free and records only aggregate, anonymised information such as the page visited, the country it was visited from and the type of device and browser. It does not identify you and does not receive anything you type into the form.
The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any host, it keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses and the addresses of the pages requested, for a short time to run and protect the service. Because shared and poster links hold your details, those logs can briefly include them.
The app
The app has no analytics, adverts or tracking, and asks for no permissions. The Today's Sun widget is worked out on your phone. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may pass us anonymous crash reports.
Cookies
True Zodiac sets no cookies. Lemon Squeezy's checkout page, which is theirs, may set its own.
If you change the text size, the music or the sound effects in the ✦ menu, your browser remembers those choices on your own device so they are there next time. They are never sent to us, and clearing your browser's site data forgets them.
Your rights and who we are
True Zodiac is run by an independent developer in the United Kingdom, who is responsible for the little data described here. Under UK data protection law you can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. As we keep order and transaction numbers rather than names, it helps to include your poster link or receipt when you write to support@truezodiac.co.uk. You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner's Office.
