Taurus is the Bull, charging head-down with Aldebaran as its red eye and the Hyades as its face. The Pleiades ride on its shoulder, and the Crab Nebula, the remains of a star seen to explode in 1054, sits at the tip of one horn. The Sun spends over five weeks here from mid-May, and reaches the June solstice inside Taurus rather than in Gemini, where the solstice stood when the tropics were named.
